This setup is built around the CF-VEB201 desktop dock combined with an adjustable aluminum stand from AliExpress. One monitor is connected via HDMI, the other through a DisplayLink adapter (USB32HD4K). All peripherals and power to the laptop and both displays are routed through the dock, so the laptop can be detached anytime and used on its own.
This setup replaced the peripheral platform from my previous project. I realized that in the mobile configuration, the sound card and external media drive are unnecessary. It’s better when the mobile setup stays minimalist.
The triple FullHD display system makes it easy to work with code, graphics, and documentation, while staying modular and mobile. Although I own a more powerful Dell XPS laptop, this setup turned out so practical that it became my main workstation.

I enjoy weekend hiking trips and exploring new areas, so I equipped myself with a Garmin Montana 750i loaded with topographic maps. It quickly became my go-to tool for planning and following hiking routes.
Carrying the heavy navigator in hand or pocket was impractical, so I adapted a shoulder bag for it. I cut an opening in the flap for the antenna, reinforced the edges with nylon tape, and replaced the original thin strap with a wide adjustable strap and strong metal carabiners.
Now, when I start a hike, I wear the bag across my shoulder, switch on navigation, and follow the planned route. The device is always within reach — just like a holster, it can be drawn and stowed back instantly.
This small DIY solution turned into a very convenient way to carry the navigator, making my hikes smoother and more enjoyable.

I designed and built a custom peripheral platform for my Panasonic CF-20 rugged laptop. The goal was to expand its functionality with a Creative G6 sound card and a 4 TB SSD, both connected through a USB hub.
I fabricated a plastic platform with spacers that create an air gap for cooling – important since the CF-20 relies on passive dissipation through its tablet lid. The platform is mounted to the laptop using zip ties secured to the native X-Strap points.
All cables were hand-soldered and tailored for the exact length and angle. I even made a spiral cable and a custom angled USB plug so the hub would sit compactly without sticking out.
The result is a rugged, portable setup that allows me to enjoy hi-fi music, watch DVDs with virtual 5.1 surround sound on my Sennheiser HD 660S, and store my entire media library and backups on the external SSD.

After trying a bulky 4-insert Traveler’s notebook, I realized I only needed two blocks: a horizontal A6 notebook for tasks and a vertical spiral pad for shopping lists and quick notes. I added two spare refills with the pen, card slots under the spiral, and a custom paperclip bookmark.
This setup introduced my new system: a two-spread week, giving room for 8–10 tasks per day plus space for notes. Compact, practical, and rugged – it became my current go-to everyday tracker.

For everyday tasks I used small A6 notebooks, but the pen was constantly getting lost, so I decided to make a notebook with a built-in pen holder. However, I didn’t want the notebook to become wider, so after many sketches I came to an interesting solution – a pocket right on the cover. For holding the inserts I used a Traveler’s elastic system. The notebook turned out great, with a Parker Jotter pen, four inserts, and brass hardware. I even used it for several months.
Later I realized that carrying four inserts in a pocket was inconvenient. So I kept this notebook for long trips, and for a daily task tracker I switched to a slimmer design, which I’ll describe in another DIY entry.

In addition to design, I took an active role in production processes: preparing and imaging printing plates, operating folding and stitching machines, cutting and assembling posters and banners, and assisting in final packaging.
I flexibly adapted to different roles and ensured a smooth workflow in a high-demand environment, working overtime when required. My contributions helped the team meet deadlines with consistent quality standards. This position gave me new technical experience and helped me return to IT with stronger discipline and versatility.
